On April 29, 2024, Tan Tieniu, Secretary of the CPC NJU Committee and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), participated as a special guest in the "THE Asian Universities Summit 2024" held in Malaysia. The summit, co-organized by Times Higher Education (THE) and Sunway University, Malaysia, aimed to explore and redefine the changing landscape of education in Asia.
During the summit, Tan had discussions with Simone Dilena, President of ACPC at Times Higher Education, and Li Hui, Director of Times Higher Education Greater China Region.
Tan also engaged in a Fireside Chat with Phil Baty, Chief Global Affairs Officer of Times Higher Education, on the theme of "Empowering Graduates: A Pathway to Sustainable Employment." The talk looked at the critical intersection between education and employability, focusing on strategies to empower graduates for sustainable career success.
This year's THE Asia Universities Summit bridged frontiers to reimagine the evolving landscape of education in Asia. In THE World University Rankings 2024, Nanjing University achieved a commendable 73rd position.
