On October 22, Tan Tieniu, Chair of the University CPC Committee and Academician of CAS, led a delegation to University of Reading. Prof. Robert Van de Noort, Vice Chancellor of the University of Reading, warmly welcomed the delegation. 

The two parties discussed about further cooperation in disciplines such as atmospheric science and computer science. Tan suggested that the two universities could explore the potential of launching interdisciplinary joint degree programs at the graduate level. He also suggested deepening collaboration in talent cultivation through joint summer schools.

The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding for the future cooperation.

During their stay, Tan and the delegation also visited the Departments of Computer Science, the Department of Meteorology, and the meteorological observation station.
