On September 27, 2024, Chen Yunsong, Vice Chair of the University CPC Council, warmly welcomed Millette Shamir, Vice President of Tel Aviv University, and her delegation at Xianlin campus.
Chen expressed gratitude for the longstanding collaboration between NJU and Tel Aviv University, highlighting the significant achievements of the Institute of Jewish and Israeli Studies in cultural research and its profound impact on cultural development in both China and Israel. He also shared recent advancements at NJU, and expressed hope for broader and deeper cooperation between the two universities.
Vice President Shamir thanked Chen for the warm reception, praising NJU's academic standing and international influence. She outlined Tel Aviv University's commitment to interdisciplinary research and international academic exchange, expressing a desire to initiate a new round of dialogue and exploration of collaboration opportunities.
Both sides reached a consensus on expanding substantial interdisciplinary projects and enhancing faculty and student exchanges. Following the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Philosophy to discuss practical cooperation and also toured the Hopkins-Nanjing Center.
