Tan Tieniu visits Kazakhstan

Recently, Tan Tieniu, Secretary of the CPC NJU Committee, led a delegation to visit Kazakhstan. 

On the morning of July 17, the delegation visited Nazarbayev University. Tan Tieniu and his delegation were warmly welcomed by Provost Ilesanmi Adesida. The two sides discussed potential collaboration between the two universities in fields such as engineering technology, information science, and energy resources.

On the afternoon of July 17, the delegation visited L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, one of the top universities in Kazakhstan. Beisenbai Ardak Bakytovich, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Bekmanova Gulmira Tyleuberdievna, Vice-Rector for Digitalization warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the university's leading advantages and latest achievements. The delegation also visited the university's history museum, learning about its work in promoting Chinese language education and fostering cultural exchange between China and Kazakhstan.

On the afternoon of July 18, the delegation visited the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Vice President Jumadildayev Askar warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the latest developments in scientific research and technological development at the academy. The two sides discussed future cooperation directions and specific projects, and reached multiple consensuses.

On the morning of July 19, the delegation visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Duisenov Yerkin, Deputy Chair of the Board, welcomed the delegation and introduced the university's history, disciplinary advantages, and internationalization strategy. The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in engineering technology, information technology, and reached several consensuses on joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, academic cooperation, and cultural exchanges.

On the morning of July 19, the delegation also visited the Kazakhstan Branch Campus of Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU). Zhang Qihui from the International Office of NPU introduced the university's development and internationalization strategy. Tan Tieniu remarked that NPU has provided valuable experience for the international outreach of Chinese higher education. Both sides discussed topics such as overseas education, faculty exchange, student training, and course development.

On the afternoon of July 19, the delegation visited Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University). Meiram Begentayev, Board Chairman and Rector, met with the delegation. The two sides exchanged achievements in information technology, automation, and engineering technology, and looked forward to promoting the development of both universities through a series of collaborations.
