On July 15, 2024, Nanjing University (NJU) held the opening ceremony for its 18th United Nations Chinese Summer Study Program. The program aims to provide UN staff with immersive Chinese language and cultural experiences. This year, 52 participants from 25 countries attend this program. They work in various UN departments.
Lu Yanqing, Vice President of NJU, delievered welcome remakrs. He highlighted the long-standing relationship between NJU and the UN, noting that many NJU alumni have held significant positions within the UN.
NJU has been hosting the UN Chinese Summer Study Program since 2004. The program offers an immersive Chinese language and cultural experience for UN staff from its headquarters in New York and branch offices in Bangkok, Geneva, Nairobi, and Vienna. By 2024, nearly 900 participants have attended this program.
