The XVth International Ibsen Conference will be held in Nanjing, China on June 24-26, 2024. The conference is hosted by Nanjing University, in co-operation with the Centre for Ibsen Studies, University of Oslo. The deadline for submitting abstracts is January 1st, 2024.
The Intermedial Ibsen
The theme of the conference will be “The Intermedial Ibsen”. In light of new developments in intermedial studies in literature and arts, the intermedial approaches to Ibsen may include the images of artists in Ibsen’s plays, the intermedial reference to music and architecture, the Ibsen paintings by Edvard Munch, film adaptations based on Ibsen’s plays, remediations of Ibsen in musicals and dance theatre, intercultural performances of Ibsen, just to name a few.
We encourage all participants to engage with the main theme to enrich the conference discussion. Papers may address, but are by no means restricted to, the following thematic streams:

Instructions for abstract submission
Submitted papers should be centered on the conference theme, and paper presentations should be planned for a maximum of 20 minutes. Abstracts should be no more than 300 words long and should include a brief bio.The deadline is January 1st, 2024.
