Center for Comparative Literature and Cross-cultural Studies established

On June 2, 2023, the Center for Comparative Literature and Cross-cultural Studies of Nanjing University held its launch ceremony at NJU Xianlin Campus, marking the official establishment of the Center. Lu Yanqing, the Vice President of NJU, delivered a congratulatory speech. Prof. Gao Fang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Studies at Nanjing University, presided over the ceremony.



Following the launch ceremony, a symposium on comparative literature and cross-cultural studies was held. Experts and scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds shared their perspectives on various thought-provoking topics, including multilingualism in world literature, literary cosmopolitanism, the significance of Chinese comparative literature studies, trans-media studies, digital humanities, and cross-cultural adaptation.

At the conclusion of the symposium, Prof. He Chengzhou, the Director of the Center, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, acknowledging that the academic symposium exemplified the immense power of “comparison.”
