The 1st China Standardization Conference was held during March 30 - 31, 2023 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. The conference awarded the second prize of the 2022 China Standard Innovation Contribution Award (Standard Project Award) to the international standard ISO 22447:2019 "Industrial wastewater classification". This standard was formulated under the leadership of Academician Ren Hongqiang, who is the Dean of the School of Environment at Nanjing University and also serves as the Dean of the Yixing Environmental Protection Research Institute at Nanjing University.

As the leading standard in the field of international industrial wastewater treatment, ISO 22447:2019 offers normative guidance for the global industrial wastewater treatment and reuse industry. This standard will influence various aspects of the industry chain, including policy and standard formulation, strategic consultation, process design, technical equipment research and development, engineering construction, and production operation.

In this year’s “China Standard Innovation Contribution Award,” 60 standard projects were selected for recognition.
