On the afternoon of September 7, Tan Tieniu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Secretary of the CPC NJU Committee, met with Professor CHAN Cheuk Hay, President and Principal of Hong Kong College of Technology (HKCT) at Xianlin Campus. Wang Zhenlin, a member of the Standing Committee of NJU Party Committee and Vice President of NJU, also attended the meeting.
Tan Tieniu introduced the history and development of NJU. He emphasized that NJU has a long-standing history of exchange and cooperation with Hong Kong, and is one of the top universities in China for initiating such collaborations. NJU’s development has received significant attention and support from various sectors in Hong Kong. Currently, Nanjing University is actively expanding its educational cooperation with Hong Kong. HKCT, as one of the 22 higher education institutions in Hong Kong, has achieved notable accomplishments and contributions in vocational education. The two institutes can leverage their respective strengths and deepen their cooperation.
CHAN Cheuk Hay expressed gratitude to Tan and NJU for the warm reception. He also thanked Tan for his support in the development of HKCT. Chen introduced the history and recent achievements of HKCT and expressed the desire to engage in future exchanges and cooperation with NJU in education, academia, and scientific research.
