On May 16, the signing ceremony for a donation from Tongding Group to Nanjing University was held at Xianlin Campus. Shen Xiaoping, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tongding Group and Honorary Member of the University Council of NJU, Qian Huifang, General Manager of Tongding Group Co., Ltd., Tan Zheming, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of NJU, and Zou Yajun, Standing Member of CPC NJU Committee and Vice President of NJU, attended the signing ceremony. Zhang Suogeng, Director of the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development at NJU, presided over the ceremony.

Shen Xiaoping reviewed the histroy of Tongding Group and its recent accomplishments. He expressed that the collaboration between Tongding Group and NJU over the past two decades has been both an honor and a mission for the company. Tongding Group has consistently responded to its social responsibilities by actively supporting charitable and educational initiatives over the years. Shen Xiaoping hoped that the signing of this donation will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen the academic research and technological transfer cooperation between Tongding Group and NJU. 

Zou Yajun highlighted the donation as a new milestone in Tongding Group’s support for NJU over the past two decades. The donated funds will specifically contribute to the development of basic disciplines such as mathematics, physics, and atmospheric sciences.

Tan Zheming extended sincere gratitude on behalf of NJU to Shen Xiaoping for his unwavering support in the university’s growth and progress. The timing of this donation is especially significant as it coincides with the momentous occasion of NJU’s 121st anniversary. Tan emphasized the pivotal role that individuals like Shen Xiaoping play in shaping the university’s success.
