NJU “Pine-Bamboo-Plum” Alumni Fund established

On March 24th, the signing ceremony for the establishment of the “Pine-Bamboo-Plum” Alumni Fund was held at Xianlin campus, NJU. Zhu Hansong, a graduate of 1987 Class from the  Business School and Chairman of Jiangyin Xiake Private Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd, Zheng Xue, a graduate of 1987 Class from the Business School and Chairman of Bank of China (Canada) and Bank of China (Thailand) Public Company Limited, Zhu Chongwei, a graduate of 2014 Class (Undergraduate) and 2018 Class (Postgraduate) from the School of History, and Tan Tieniu, Member of the CPPCC Standing Committee, Academician of CAS and Secretary of the CPC NJU Committee, attended the ceremony. Zou Yajun, Member of the CPC NJU Committee and Vice President of NJU, and Zhu Hansong signed the agreement to donate for the Fund.



Tan, on behalf of NJU, expressed the most heartfelt thanks to Zhu Hansong and his family for their generosity. He pointed out that alumni are major contributors to the development of NJU. The “Pine-Bamboo-Plum” Alumni Fund represents not only a charitable act of support to education, but also a way to spread love and motivate the University. NJU will make good use of this generous and timely support to develop its humanities and social sciences disciplines.

Reminiscing about their days at NJU, Zhu and Zheng said that NJU laid solid foundations for their studies and future career. With the donation, they want to express their gratitude to NJU for the education they received and fulfill their wishes to do their part for its development. They hoped that NJU shall uphold its century-old tradition and cultivate more talents for the country.  

The ceremony was presided over by Liu Chunlin, Secretary of the CPC NJU Business School Committee and attended by the faculty representatives from the School of History and other departments.

“Pine-Bamboo-Plum” Alumni Fund is an open-end fund under the NJU Education Development Foundation. Aiming to facilitate the “Double First-Class” construction, it offers support to outstanding postgraduate students to pursue knowledge and international exchange in the field of humanities and social sciences. Specific projects under its support include: the establishment of “Pine-Bamboo-Plum Alumni Scholarship” annually awarded to outstanding full-time postgraduate students in the humanities and social sciences and of international exchange programs for teachers and students in the humanities and social sciences.
