On March 24, Tan Tieniu, Secretary of CPC NJU Committee, met at Xianlin Campus with Terry Li, Director of the SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation, and Tandia Wan, Programme Director of the Foundation.
Tan gave his warm welcome to Li and the delegation and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Foundation's 16-year continuous support for talent cultivation at NJU. Tan introduced the advanced disciplines, campus construction and development plans of NJU, stating that NJU will take full advantage of the donations from the Foundation, and look forward to further cooperation in scientific research and infrastructure construction to better meet the development needs of the country.
Terry Li looked back on his experiences at NJU and expressed his appreciation for its well-tailored financial-aid policies for students. He said that the Foundation will continue to support talented students in their studies, promote education across the country, and give continued support to the construction and development of NJU.
Zou Yajun, Vice President of NJU, and the heads of theStudent Affairs Office and Alumni Affairs and Development Office were present at the meeting.After the meeting, Li met with this year’s beneficiaries of the Foundation's supporting programme.
Since 2006, the SHKP-Kwoks’ Foundation has set three rounds of scholarship programmes at NJU, benefiting nearly 2,000 undergraduates from disadvantaged families. Of the scholarships at NJU, the Foundation’s is among the top in terms of its scale, duration, and coverage, with the largest number of students aided and the most comprehensive standard for assessment.
