On March 16th, 2023, Tan Tieniu, Secretary of CPC NJU Committee met at Xianlin Campus with Dr. Poon Lok To Otto, Chairman of ATAL Engineering Group headquartered in Hong Kong.

Tan extended a warm welcome to Dr. Poon, who has contributed greatly to the development of Hong Kong. Tan introduced the history, disciplines, faculty, collaborative programs and prospect of NJU, especially the cooperative institutions and organizations co-founded by NJU and Johns Hopkins University, University of Helsinki and universities in Hong Kong and Macau. He also commented on the wonderful expectations of establishing cooperative connections between ATAL and NJU.

Dr. Poon expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of NJU and said that the Group always puts great emphasis on empowering the industry through conducting technological research, cooperation with universities and research incubation for PhD students. ATAL hoped to discuss with NJU on areas of possible cooperation and encourage NJU students to participate in the Group’s research in the fields of environmental protection, artificial intelligence, and data development. The two sides exchanged views on topics such as launching research incubation for PhD students and setting up related funds.

The Heads of NJU Alumni Office and Office of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs attended the meeting.
