As New Year’s Day approached, Tan Tieniu, Secretary of CPC NJU Committee, extended New Year’s greetings to the faculty, staff, and students on Xianlin Campus on behalf of the university leadership.
On the afternoon of December 31, Tan and his team first visited security guards at the South Gate booth. Tan expressed gratitude for their service and dedication. He also urged them to wear masks, mind their own self-protection, and “ask for help should any difficulty arise”.
At the 110 Alarm Center of the campus security office, Tan learned of the daily routine of the staff and inspected the campus scenes through real-time CCTV monitoring. Tan inquired about the health of the staff on duty, expressed sincere thanks for their hard work, and pointed out that “Nanjing University is worth protecting by us all”. In such a special time, he hoped that everyone will continue to effectively safeguard the campus.
At the university hospital, Tan visited the medical staff on duty and carefully inspected the operation of pre-examination clinics, nucleic acid sampling booths, and telephone consultations. “You have made great contributions to safeguarding everyone’s health,” Tan expressed high praise and gratitude to the medical staff for their hard work, especially for their important role during the period of national entrance examination for graduate students, and extended New Year’s greetings to them on behalf of the university leadership.
At the 11th Student Canteen, Tan listened to the staff’s introduction of the current operation of the canteen and expressed his greetings. He pointed out that in the face of the pandemic, it is good to appropriately increase relatively light dishes, reasonably arrange the working hours of employees, and equip microwave ovens and other heating equipment to ensure that teachers and students can enjoy hot meals.
Later, Tan and his team visited the dormitory management team in Dorm Building 18. They learned of the living conditions of students staying on campus and extended New Year’s greetings. “At school, we are the students’ family,” Tan warmly encouraged the staff to always treat the students as their own family, effectively cater to their needs, and make them fully feel at home here.
Tan also visited the Finance Department. He pointed out that as the end of the financial year approaches, the department should coordinate work arrangements with pandemic prevention and control. Tan expressed his respect for the staff’s perseverance and reminded everyone to take care of themselves at this critical time.
