From August 28 to September 1, Zhang Junfeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the NJU Party Committee and Vice President of NJU, led a delegation on a visit to international organizations, Chinese embassies, and multilateral delegations in Geneva, Switzerland, and Vienna, Austria. The visit enhanced the communication and cooperation between NJU and international organizations.
On the morning of August 28, the delegation visited the World Meteorological Organization, and engaged in discussions with Secretary-General Petteri Talas, Assistant Secretary-General Zhang Wenjian, and officials from relevant departments.
On the afternoon of August 28, the delegation met with Zhang Xiangchen, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization, and Wang Xiaodong, Deputy Director of the Market Access Division of WTO.
On the morning of August 29, Zhang and the delegation visited the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and held a meeting with Miroslav Medic, the Head of the Partnerships and Recruitment Department of UNHCR.
On the afternoon of August 28, Zhang and the delegation visited the Palais des Nations, and shared NJU’s experience and achievements in cultivating talents for international organizations with officials from the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). These discussion facilitated knowledge exchange and mutual insights in the field of international talent development.

On August 31, Zhang visited the Vienna International Center for in-depth discussions with officials from the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.

During the visit, Ambassador Li Song, Permanent Representative and Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the People’s Republic of China to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna, met with Zhang Junfeng and his delegation. Ambassador Li warmly welcomed Zhang Junfeng and his team and introduced the basic structure of the United Nations agencies in Vienna and China’s key involvement in UN affairs in Vienna. Zhang Junfeng, in turn, introduced the series of initiatives undertaken by NJU to actively promote global strategies and cultivate talents for global governance. This meeting was also attended by Shen Gang, Minister Counsellor at the Chinese Permanent Mission in Vienna, and Shi Zhan, Counselor and Director of the Political and Press Section.
