The event was also atteneded by Dr. Yong Ho, the program leader, representatives from the Institute for International Students, program instructors, volunteers, as well as staff from various UN departments and diplomats stationed at UN. The ceremony was presided over by the Associate Dean of the Institute for International Students of Nanjing University.

Since 2004, NJU has been collaborating with the United Nations Chinese  Program to offer summer Chinese language training sessions for UN staff. By 2019, the program had  successfully conducted 16 sessions in a roll, providing language training to over 800 staff members from the United Nations headquarters in New York, as well as from UN branches in Geneva, Vienna, Bangkok, and Nairobi. This program stands as the only one among the six official working languages of the United Nations where staff can learn a language in a native environment . It has played a significant role in promoting international Chinese language education and supporting multilateral diplomacy.
