On November 10, Dazhong Bookstore at NJU opened on the first floor of Duxia Library. Zou Yajun, Vice President of NJU, Guo Zijian, Academician of CAS and Professor of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Bi Feiyu, Vice President of China Writers Association, President of Jiangsu Writers Association and Professor of the School of Liberal Arts, Ye Zhaoyan, Vice President of Jiangsu Writers Association, Cheng Zhangcan, Director of Institute of Classic Literature of NJU and Former Head Curator of Duxia Library, Liao Bingwen, General Manager of Dazhong Bookstore, and other distinguished guests attended at the opening ceremony. Huang Xianjin, Head Curator of Duxia Library presided over the opening ceremony.
Zou Yajun announced the official opening of the bookstore. In his speech, he emphasized the significance of the physical bookstore on campus as a vital cultural infrastructure and a symbol of civilization. He highlighted its crucial role in disseminating advanced culture, promoting the national reading campaign, establishing a book-centered campus, and fostering the comprehensive development of students.
Bi Feiyu emphasized that the presence of a bookstore within the library is not only a source of pride for the bookstore but also an honor and stroke of luck for the library itself. The bookstore, with its poetic ambiance and vibrant essence, holds the power to captivate hearts and minds. Bi expressed his sincere hope that an increasing number of individuals will be drawn to the library, enticed to step into the bookstore, and ultimately develop a profound love for books.
Liao Bingwen conveyed his heartfelt appreciation for the care and support NJU has extended to Dazhong. He also took a moment to reflect on his own experience as a student in NJU. In alignment with the ethos of creating a campus dedicated to books and fostering cultural co-construction, Liao Bingwen expressed his aspirations for the bookstore to provide NJU teachers and students with a space for reading, studying, and meaningful interactions. He envisions the bookstore as a cultural haven, where individuals can freely express themselves and engage in intellectual dialogue.

In its role as a campus bookstore, it will seamlessly integrate with the academic and research requirements of NJU, empowering students' initiative and creativity. Furthermore, the bookstore envisions the future implementation of auxiliary services such as part-time job stations to enhance the overall experience for students.
