17th NJU Reading Festival begins

On October 25 at its Gulou campus, NJU held the opening ceremony for its 17th Reading Festival.

NJU Reading Festival is launched to encourage students to read more. Yang Zhong, Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC NJU Committee, officially declared the festival starts at the beginning of his speech. She Jiangtao, NJU alumnus and General Manager of Phoenix Publishing & Media Group (Phoenix Media), attended the ceremony and expressed the group’s hope of furthering cooperation with NJU in various fields. Faculty representative Yao Yuan and student representative Dong Xiaoli shared their reading experience and expectations of the festival.

This year’s NJU Reading Festival is simultaneously held at NJU’s Gulou, Xianlin and Pukou campuses. Its theme is “Reading Empowers Dreams”. A series of activities, including special exhibitions, lecture and seminar series, book launches, fun competitions, reading challenges, photo shows, and library visits will be held.
