The Melbourne United visited the Xianlin Campus of Nanjing University (NJU) on May 16 and had a skills sharing meeting with NJU’s women’s basketball team.

Accompanying their visit were leaders from the Council for Development, Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and Department of Physical Education.

As one of the activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia, a friendly basketball match was held in the Union Pay Gymnasium in Wutaishan Sports Center on the night of May 17.

This match between the Melbourne United (formerly Melbourne Tigers) and Jiangsu Men's Basketball Team served as a tribute to the relationship between the two countries.

The Melbourne United players, along with the CEO of Australia's National Basketball League (NBL), the legal adviser to the National Basketball Association (NBA), and NJU’s former student Li Yao, came to Xianlin Campus on the afternoon of May 16, visited NJU’s History Museum and exchanged with NJU students and the women’s basketball team.

The Melbourne United players demonstrated to the NJU students their two-hour high-intensity adversarial practice under the guidance of their coach, winning applauses of the students with their high-level skills and professional dedication.

After the practice, the Australian players exchanged souvenirs with NJU women’s basketball team. The two teams also had a friendly match and eventually the women’s basketball team won the match with 3-points in a row.
